Who We Are
The Chemung County Department of Aging and Long Term Care provides a broad range of information and assistance to help older adults, people of all ages in need of long term care, and their families and caregivers, including advocacy; caregiver and dementia support services; Friendly Visitor and Telephone Reassurance Programs; Health Information, Counseling and Assistance Program (HIICAP); health promotion; homecare; legal assistance, mental health; NY Connects: Your Link to Long Term Services and Supports; nutrition services, programs to help you make ends meet, a resource center, Senior Games and transportation.
Legal assistance is dedicated to building local, integrated legal services delivery systems that effectively and efficiently use the resources of the legal and advocacy communities to ensure the rights of older adults and to prevent their abuse, neglect and exploitation.
Confidential legal information and referrals are provided free of charge for Chemung County residents who are over the age of 60.
Assistance with advance directives is targeted towards those in greatest economic and social need.
