Who We Are
The Western New York Eviction Prevention Program (WNY-EPP) provides free eviction defense and advocacy to families and individuals who face displacement and homelessness due to eviction. WNY-EPP assists tenants who would like an attorney to help them because their landlords have given notice that their tenancy will be terminated, have otherwise begun efforts to terminate their tenancy, or have given them a demand to pay back rent.
WNY-EPP services are provided free to financially-eligible persons who reside in Erie, Genesee, Niagara, Orleans, and Wyoming Counties. Services provided include legal advice, eviction prevention assistance, eviction representation, and referrals.
Neighborhood Legal Services is proud to provide a historic level of eviction defense alongside our subcontractors: Erie County Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project, Center for Elder Law & Justice, Legal Aid Bureau of Buffalo, Inc, and Western New York Law Center, Inc.
To access WNY-EPP services, unrepresented tenants are encouraged to call our hotline at (844) 230-7376.
