The Family Center

The Family Center is a nonprofit organization working with New Yorkers affected by illness, crisis and loss. The Family Center's Legal Services Department has a new name, one that better reflects who we are and what we do. We are the Legal Wellness Institute,  a boutique law department housed in a remarkable nonprofit agency.

We represent clients in all five boroughs of New York City in housing, family and matrimonial actions, public benefits administrative hearings, and lifetime planning.  We work in courts throughout New York City.  Our lawyers make sure that clients maintain housing, medical insurance, public benefits and family stability. We achieve excellent, lasting results for our clients and their families.

Our dedicated attorneys and advocates provide quality legal services to the most vulnerable New Yorkers - those struggling with the dual challenges of poverty and serious illness.
