A grievance procedure is a way for a tenant to challenge something the Public Housing Authority (PHA) did or failed to do. The process depends on the PHA lease for your building. Your lease must have or link the grievance process information. It usually includes:
- how to request a hearing
- a PHA location for making a grievance
- a length of time for filing the grievance (often 10 working days)
You can make your grievance orally or in writing. A hearing officer will decide what happens to your grievance.
